Staying loyal to the aviator’s originality and ingenuity, Cartier is continuing the adventure with two newly-imagined versions of this icon. Two watches to question our perception of time.

First, the elegant Santos-Dumont Rewind watch which changes how we traditionally tell the time and, second, the bold Santos de Cartier Dual Time watch which allows you to track two different time zones at once.

Santos de Cartier Dual Time

Bold and transformative, this new Santos de Cartier Dual Time watch overcomes distance, as the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont did in his time.

Its mechanical movement with automatic winding combines two time zones, allowing you to tell the time both where you are and where you are from simultaneously, without sacrificing any resistance or reliability.

With tapered, ergonomic lines and a synergy between the case’s lines and those of the bracelet, the watch in this steel version exudes elegance through its details, which include rhodium-finish sword-shaped luminescent hands, a seven-sided faceted crown and a grey counter showing a second adjustable time zone.

Like the Santos de Cartier collection as a whole, the bracelet offers ultimate practicality. Available in steel or leather, all versions can be interchanged thanks to the patented QuickSwitch system, the invisible mechanism of which blends into the case’s architecture. Meanwhile the metal bracelet can be adjusted to the nearest link thanks to its patented tool-free SmartLink size adjustment system.

Santos-Dumont Rewind - Limited edition of 200 numbered pieces

Changing the course of time is the technical and aesthetic goal for the all-new Santos-Dumont Rewind watch. The carnelian dial is full of boldness and its subtle nuances emphasise the singularity of this limited edition in platinum. Roman numerals indicate the time in an arrangement that reverses tradition!

Original and inventive, this limited edition follows in the magical and unprecedented footsteps of the aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, for whom anything is possible. So why not have the apple-shaped hands, with their mechanical movement with reversed manual winding, calibre 230 MC, move backwards, rather than forwards? This timeless watch remains loyal to the elegant original model from 1904 and to the pioneering spirit of Santos-Dumont, with the Cartier signature engraved on both sides of the watch’s dial.

Limited edition - The Santos-Dumont collection is adding three new exclusive models to its repertoire

Three highly colourful watches that pay tribute to the elegance inherited from Alberto Santos-Dumont. Their lacquer illuminates the dial and accentuates the bezel and the case. The three versions come in olive green and platinum, blue peacock and rose gold, or taupe grey and yellow gold. Each is coated with a thin layer of less than a thousandth of a millimetre of smoothed and hand-polished lacquer. Everything hinges on the finesse of this translucent lacquer, which adds brilliance, contrast and depth to the dial’s colours.

A metal arched frame punctuated with screws emphasises the square shape of the watches, these new models opt for Arabic numerals, the size and curves of which echo the rounded corners of the emblematic Santos-Dumont dial. Delicate craftsmanship is at the service of a subtle and sophisticated aesthetic that perpetuates the heritage of this great watchmaking classic with manual mechanical movement, calibre 430 MC.
