Eberhard & Co. Scientigraf Chrono

A new timepiece enters the Eberhard & Co. catalogue: the Scientigraf Chrono. The watch is a chronograph version of the famous anti-magnetic Scientigraf model launched in 1961, whose technical and aesthetic characteristics are enhanced by the presence of two counters.

The year 1961 marked the birth of Scientigraf, a watch conceived specifically to respond to the the multiplication of electrical appliances and their magnetic fields, which affected the precision of the mechanical movements.

Re-launched in 2021 in a “time only” version, Scientigraf is now available in a chronographic version and is also characterised by the presence of a “Faraday cage” inside the case: a “soft” ironstructure that absorbs electromagnetic waves and protects the watch’s micromechanics.

At a time where devices have become an integral part of everyday life, Scientigraf and Scientigraf Chrono stand out for their effectiveness in preserving the Swiss precision characteristics of Eberhard & Co. watches.

From an aesthetic point of view, the Scientigraf Chrono displays a vintage appeal: on the black dial, the two counters (decorated with a refined azuré finish) and the triangle element stand out, recurring in many details such as the hour markers or the tips of the hour and counter hands. The hour markers and hands are available in orange or ivory with luminescence to make them visible in the dark.

The 41 mm steel case, which contains the Faraday cage, alternates between polished and satin-brushed finishes, while the screw-locked case-back bears the original design of the model launched in 1961, with the logo and inscription recalling the anti-magnetic tests carried out at the time in the dedicated facility in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

The 2CLICK® clasp

The Scientigraf Chrono is proposed with a steel Chassis® bracelet equipped with the 2CLICK® clasp which, thanks to its two-button unlocking system, allows the bracelet to be softly unfastened while providing extra security against accidental opening. The clasp is personalised with the Maison’s signature shield, also evoked in the design of the internal blades.
