Creating watches is not just a matter of objects and mechanics; above all, it is about sharing and human relationships. Without the synergies between the various players in the watchmaking world accompanied by the support of watch aficionados, artisans would not be able to continue developing their art. Pietro Tomajer understood that when he was laying the groundwork for The Limited Edition in 2015. Since the early days, he was profoundly inspired by the early pioneer watchmakers including Vianney Halter—not just for his approach to watchmaking, but for his philosophy, personality, and his courage to remain true to his artistic vision.

After meeting via a common friend and building a friendship across the years, it felt natural for Pietro to ask Vianney for a helping hand to celebrate this important milestone.

Pietro also saw in Vianney a kindred spirit—someone who challenges norms, breaks boundaries, and injects fun into a field often dominated by rigid tradition. This spirit of disruption and joy became a cornerstone of The Limited Edition’s overall identity.

Vianney’s work, pervaded by science fiction, steampunk, and architectural influences, is a celebration of creative freedom, something that deeply resonated with Pietro and Amr, who took on the creative direction of the design.

To mark The Limited Edition’s 10th Anniversary, we wanted something truly unforgettable. Thanks to the creative direction of Amr Sindi and the genius of Vianney Halter, we believe we’ve left a meaningful mark on our journey so far. Bold in spirit and yet elegant in execution, deeply personal in its essence, this timepiece is already one to be remembered for years to come".

The creative direction of this project was led by Amr Sindi, The Horophile, known in the watch world for his deep passion and understanding of independent horology. His vision of the design and refined aesthetic, challenged Vianney to reinterpret his signature steampunk style through a dark and contemporary yet smooth and elegant lens. The result is a timepiece that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.

Amr’s influence is evident in the balance of eccentricity and elegance. This collaboration is a testament to his curatorial vision and his ability to guide even the most distinctive watchmakers toward new creative territory.

Creating with Amr and Pietro pushed Vianney towards what he enjoys: challenging a point of view to go beyond his personal considerations, glimpsing another world through their eyes. The result: expressing Vianney’s Futur Anterieur DNA through the reality of the present.

To physically interpret the essence of Amr and Pietro's requests, this watch crystalised two perspectives from Vianney Halter. The volumes and proportions of the case, glass, and dials come from the new «Art Deco Metropolis» design, but the aesthetic details, rivets, lugs, and crown are a legacy of the original «Classic». « Reality of Time » is the only model that offers this combination. The choice of finishes and colors by Amr Sindi and Pietro Tomajer also supports this idea of a contemporary and elegant reinterpretation.

The titanium case is given, for the first time, a raw matte finish, contrasted by the polised rose gold rivets on the bezel and crown. The dial, rendered in a rich and intense dark grey, creates a dramatic contrast with the gold chapter ring and painted powdery gold numerals, enhancing depth and sophistication.

On the patented « mysterious » winding mass, each of us can read: « Le temps n'a qu'une réalité, celle de l'instant. » (time has only one reality, that of the moment), a quote from Gaston Bachelard, French philosopher of science, poetry, education, and time. It is written in French, the common language of the three creators of this model. This quote illustrates the suspended moment of the present: a metaphor for the watch's mixed aesthetics and the good times shared with friends.
