U-Boat Profondo

The depth of the abyss on your wrist: U-BOAT unveils Profondo, an extreme diver in titanium featuring an imposing 46 mm case, a thickness of 27 mm, and a steampunk-style aged dial that evokes submerged worlds and mechanical atmospheres from a bygone era. Ready to challenge oceanic depths – and beyond – in an exclusive limited edition of only 100 pieces.

Pushing boundaries without limits has always been the philosophy of Italo Fontana, designer and founder of U-BOAT, who signs a timepiece engineered to withstand extreme pressure: up to 1,000 atmospheres.

Capable of reaching depths of 10,000 meters, Profondo stands out for its bold, rugged design: a 46 mm matte titanium case with a thickness of 27 mm and a domed sapphire crystal measuring 9.7 mm thick, ensuring maximum water resistance in the harshest conditions.

A unidirectional rotating bezel – a must for any professional diver – is also made of titanium. The metal, chosen for its strength and lightness, is engraved with technical markings, while the knurled edge provides optimal grip, even with gloves or in high-pressure environments.

On the right side of the case at 3 o’clock, an automatic helium release valve protects the watch from pressure variations, while on the left, a screw-down crown protected by protruding guards allows for secure time adjustment.

The three-level metal dial, magnified by the curvature of the sapphire crystal, features a deliberately aged finish obtained through a manual oxidation process. The result is different every time: each dial boasts unique textures and shades, making every Profondo truly one of a kind – as if salvaged from a sunken wreck. A direct homage to the world of Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.

Swiss precision and impeccable legibility: the Sellita SW200 powers the metal hands, illuminated by beige Super-LumiNova—just like the indices and numerals on the dial—ensuring they shine even in the darkest depths.

On the caseback, laser engravings and the patented Locking Ring System ensure total impermeability. The knurling mirrors that of the bezel, completing the cohesive and functional design.

Finishing the piece is a hand-crafted Tuscan leather strap with a double-prong titanium buckle. An additional titanium bracelet is also included.

Profondo is more than a watch: it’s a mechanical creation with an exploratory spirit, a powerful and commanding presence forged from raw material and sea. Ready to accompany you from minus 10,000 meters and beyond, in a strictly limited edition of 100 pieces.
