The Time Eater Tourbillon Louis Erard x Konstantin Chaykin
The beast you nicknamed Time Eater is back. One eye. One mouth. Two hands that don’t follow the rules. But this time… a new trick on its face. A new bite. A mechanical tongue that spins and a complication that is so Chaykin. A Time Eater Tourbillon, still carrying all the codes of the LE x KC saga. Two Tourbillon versions, one for him, one for us, with a price that doesn’t bite even with a wide-open mouth! Models to keep an eye on and firmly in hand.
Chaykin wanted more madness. More complexity. Specifically: a tourbillon. And when Konstantin Chaykin wants to build a monster and stir things up, you don’t say no. So here we are with two editions, the same monster spirit and different executions. One for him. One for us. This isn’t strategy. It’s two independents off the leash, building creatures, not just watches. Having fun, making noise and letting the monster out to play. Because time does not only tick, we make it bite. And this beast? It’s still hungry.” Manuel Emch.
Watch facts that matter
- 1 creature. 1 new complication: the tourbillon
- 2 watches to collect: pick your monster! One sold by Louis Erard, one by Konstantin Chaykin.
- All the monster’s signature traits: mono-eye hours disk, rebellious central minutes hand and Chaykin-signed crown.
- The toothed mouth: a fixed jaw with a mechanical red tongue marking the seconds, set in the 6 o’clock counter.
- The face: the color-coded minutes ring says it all. Green for Louis Erard, blue for Chaykin.
Time Eater Tourbillon
The Tourbillon was inevitable. When it came, it didn’t tiptoe in, it grinned wide. For Konstantin Chaykin, this isn’t just a complication. It’s personal. Tourbillons? He made the first ones in Russia. In 2021, he shattered records with the Martian Tourbillon, the most expensive Russian watch ever sold. Chaykin doesn’t make watches. He makes monsters.
Sinking its teeth into a new complication, the Time Eater is not just a mechanism, but instead, an irreverent, living creature issued in two colors.
- A green minutes ring edition, 78 units with a toad green leather strap, sold by Louis Erard.
- A blue minutes ring edition, 28 units with a grained calfskin strap, sold exclusively by Chaykin.
Its 42mm case frames an open tourbillon and a spinning red tongue marking the seconds. Powered by Caliber BCP T02 adorned with circular Côtes de Genève, the manual-winding tourbillon features a cage rotating once every 60 seconds, along with a 100-hour power reserve. A wide-grinning tourbillon that sticks out its tongue out for a figure that doesn’t bite: CHF 19,900. A technical monster with a price tag that is anything but scary!
Lost in colors? It’s easy to remember which monster is Louis Erard’s: green, a playful nod to the first Time Eater and the iconic Chaykin Joker.
Time Eater Tourbillon. The wrist monster you’ll love to unleash. Regulator first. Tourbillon next. And after that? Who knows what lurks in the shadows…
