Every so often, SEVENFRIDAY decides to break the mould and does something bold. And this newest iteration of our collaboration with Rocketbyz by Tomyboy is quite a step! It allies his unmistakable colourful style with our innovative FreeD technique to bring to you possibly one of the most daring timepieces in our short history.

The story of SevenFriday x Rocketbyz

It all started in 2013. Tomyboy was given a SEVENFRIDAY watch by a friend, neon-painted it by hand, and sent it to our founder Dan.

The watch? Unwearable.
Waterproof? Absolutely not.
But the design? Insanely cool….

That moment sparked a friendship and led to our first collaboration in 2015 — a neon, hand-painted, 50-piece limited series that sold out within two hours. In 2020, we added carbon to the neon mix. This sold out in just a few days.

Now, in January 2025, 5 years later, we’ve truly seen the light! Every detail of this multifaceted timepiece—representing day, night, and neon—has been meticulously crafted to evoke stark contrasting emotions from happiness to January doom and gloom.

Brightly

Colours are emotions, and the watch is our canvas. In the truest form of Urban art, playful details have been sprinkled on to keep you and others ticking! The 3D printed “R” and “WTF” don’t just shine brightly but they also react to UV lights. Even the gun metal time capsule itself is not spared as its glow pierces the surrounding darkness to remind you that it is time for breakfast!

We’ve gone to painstaking lengths to source and apply the best Lume by hand, enhancing not just your wrist but your life. Each luminous detail ensures you are not just wearing art—you are becoming a beacon of light, radiating positivity and creativity.

Much like a piece of art for your wrist, the watch is not intended to look conventionally pretty or pleasing. This product is pure EMOTION and leaves Swiss rationalism behind! The watch reminds us of the playfulness of building bricks, the fun of 80s fashion and neon colours in nightclubs. For this collaboration we used the Free-D B as a base and pushed the boundaries of the material, colours and finishings even further.
