Ressence Type 7 Black & Type 7 Cactus

The Ressence Type 7 expands with two new colourways — Black and Cactus — each paired with a complementary rubber strap. The additions accompany the launch of Ressence's spring campaign, Your Hands Are Your Best Tools, sharpening the Type 7's identity as the brand's most versatile watch: a tool watch as ready for the city as it is for the high seas. Both colourways share a fixed ceramic bezel — chosen for its deep, lasting finish and the structural integrity it lends the case.

Launched in March 2025 to mark Ressence's 15-year anniversary, the Type 7 is the brand’s tool watch — featuring a 41mm Grade 5 titanium case and integrated titanium bracelet, a signature oil-filled dial, a second time zone, and 5 ATM water resistance. Originally offered in Night Blue and the limited-edition XV Aquamarine, the watch now extends with Black and Cactus.

With the Type 7 Black, the oil-filled architecture takes the dial to its deepest expression. The oil chamber sitting beneath the sapphire crystal intensifies the colour depth, delivering a screen-like, near-digital clarity: bright white indices and discs reading sharply against the deepest possible background — exactly what a tool watch demands.

For a tool watch, functionality and legibility are everything," says Benoît Mintiens, Ressence's founder and creative leader. "What better contrast than bright white over deep black? The watch looks like it's in hyper-definition. A black titanium tool watch is an instant classic — and the combination will always be contemporary."

The new Cactus colour introduces a rich, warm green calibrated specifically for Grade 5 titanium. Titanium carries a warmer hue than steel — both share a subtle yellow undertone — and the Cactus green sits naturally against the glass-pearled finish of the case and bracelet, reading rich on the wrist.

A Rubber Strap for Every Mood

Each new Type 7 has a complementary rubber strap option, colour-matched to the dial. Swapping the integrated titanium bracelet for a rubber one lightens the watch and shifts its character — sportier on the wrist, ready for movement.

The total weight of the watch is reduced by installing the rubber, but with the titanium bracelet, the point of gravity of the watch is more to the centre of your wrist," explains Mintiens. "Different vibes, same watch."
