Panerai Radiomir Perpetual Calendar GMT Goldtech™ PAM01453

Panerai introduces the Perpetual Calendar complication to the legendary Radiomir collection

To celebrate the anniversary of Radiomir – the first wristwatch prototype to ever be developed by the Maison on October 24th 1935 – Panerai dedicates the Perpetual Calendar complication to this storied collection; the result is the new Radiomir Perpetual Calendar GMT Goldtech™ PAM01453. Enlarging the Radiomir universe, this new watch piece is enriched by the preciousness of Panerai Goldtech™ and it is an homage to the collection that mostly embodies the origins of the Maison.

When it comes to high-complication, Panerai stands out for its commitment to innovation and simplicity of usage. This spirit is embodied by the Maison’s manufacture in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where the Laboratorio di Idee resides. Once again with the new Radiomir Perpetual Calendar GMT Panerai remains faithful to its ethos of creating clear and intuitive instruments even in its high-complication segment, conforming with the original purpose of creating a clean user-friendly design for elevated legibility, functionality and performance. At the heart of the PAM01453 is the P.4100, an automatic mechanical movement which required more than 5 years of development. The Perpetual Calendar developed by Panerai introduces a new intuitive function where adjustments are made only with the crown allowing changes to the day, date, month and leap year without using a tool or corrector, including during month-end periods and approaching midnight.

PAM01453 is further enriched by a GMT complication. With a 24-hour display, it is a return to the Maison’s heritage, echoing some of the earliest models developed in the early 2000s. This feature adds a new dimension to the watch’s usability, especially for those who track multiple time zones.

With a three-day power reserve, the watch’s energy is stored in two barrels, with offcenter micro-rotor that winds the movement beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), to ensure precision and reliability in timekeeping. The caliber’s size and placement allow it to only measure 15 ½ lignes (35.1 mm) in diameter and 7mm in thickness despite the number of features it sustains.

The dial is designed to distinctly display all needed information such as minutes, hours, day, date, 24H GMT hand and 24H sub-dial at 9 o’clock, with small seconds and a daynight indicator. Key indications such as month, year, and leap year are visible through the sapphire open case back. The words ‘Calendario Perpetuo’ are an ode to Panerai’s Italian roots.

PAM01453 brings out the distinctive key elements characterizing the Radiomir line: the cushion-shaped case, cone-shaped crown, wire loop strap attachments and sandwich dial filled with Super-LumiNova®. The timepiece boasts a white shaded sun-brushed sandwich dial and is set in a Panerai Goldtech™ case, a gold material developed by the Maison that includes a combination of platinum and copper, giving an intense red hue and improving durability.

Water resistant up to 10 BAR (~100 meters), the timepiece is equipped with a brown alligator strap and adjustable BDR clasp for ease of wear, added security, an elegant finishing touch to protect the complication. The PAM01453 finds its appeal among connoisseurs who look for fine details and are curious about watches to tell time and seek pleasure in aesthetics and authenticity: a complication as remarkable as the heritage it embodies.

Radiomir Perpetual Calendar GMT Goldtech™ PAM01453 is available exclusively at Panerai boutiques.
