Mermont La Parfaite Blue
French writer and poet, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry claimed: “perfection is achieved when there is nothing left to remove.”
Mermont’s inaugural timepiece, “La Parfaite” (Fr. “the perfect one”) follows the French poet’s direction: it focuses on what is truly necessary, relying on its meticulously polished “solo hour hand”… For when you’d wish time to slow down.
Regulated to the highest standard with a deliberately approximate display, La Parfaite is conceived to offer a “precisely unbound” timekeeping experience: free of haste, without abandoning its core functionality.
Produced in limited numbers, Mermont watches pay tribute to traditional Genevan watchmaking: the solid platinum case houses intricately finished components, handassembled by master watchmaker Nicolas Delaloye.
Mermont speaks to enthusiasts who value quality over hype, it is made for those who appreciate quiet horological substance over spectacle.
At Mermont, the watch and its wearer are the true stars. A celebration of time, artistry, and the moments that matter.
What you see:
Mermont’s inaugural timepiece, La Parfaite, is a study in restraint with a devotion to the horological craft. An object that single handedly captures the essence of timekeeping.
Its hand-finished solo hour hand distills time in its purest form, inviting to be read without haste. It is comprised of two components: the main hand, and a “capuchon,” (Fr. mounting hole cap) making for a masterpiece of unprecedented shape and volume. It is carved from mild stainless steel before being heat treated and black polished by Nicolas Delaloye using traditional techniques.
The unconventional “colimaçon” (Fr. curved sunburst) finished dial offers spectacular interactions with each ray of light and everchanging tones. Its unique blue hue is achieved “à l’ancienne” by mixing colored pigments with Zapon varnish. The outer track is divided by 10-minute segments aligned with the curved “colimaçon” strokes to evoke the flow of time.
The 38mm case is crafted in solid platinum and features visible hand-stamped hallmarks. Its modern take on “cornes de vache” (Fr. cow horn) lugs combined with a polished, concave bezel and an oversized crown are reminiscent of an architecture of yesteryear… with a contemporary twist. The crown’s slanted ridges make for comfortable winding and setting.
The screwed-in tantalum caseback with its raised octagonal center offers a striking contrast, visible only off the wrist. It ensures a 30 meters water resistance. The composition is completed by a Swiss-made textile strap, lined with calf leather and secured with a platinum buckle.
From dial to buckle, every component received the utmost attention to be worthy of the name “La Parfaite,” underlining Mermont’s passion for Swiss watchmaking.
What you don’t see:
Equal attention was given to both elements that are visible and elements that are not. Each La Parfaite is regulated, finished, assembled, and serviced by master watchmaker Nicolas Delaloye.
Nicolas Delaloye’s pedigree is difficult to overstate. His life’s work spans from the creation of his own exceptional timepieces to the preservation and restoration of historic treasures in the world’s most important watchmaking museum and beyond.
La Parfaite is powered by the reliable and easily serviceable Swiss-made La Joux-Perret D101 movement. This manual wind caliber offers 50 hours of power reserve and is regulated to +/- 3 seconds per day, living true to Mermont’s “Precisely Unbound” moto.
It is enclosed by a solid tantalum caseback, with the watchmaker’s mark engraved on the inner surface.
Mermont is proud to partner with AIS Collective: each La Parfaite will come in an AIS Collective Chronosphere box, combining design and practicality.
