Le Régulateur Louis Erard x GoS
Finding the right rhythm, striking the right balance between two cultures and two crafts – it took patience and vision. In December 2021, Louis Erard and GoS Watches were brought together by Manuel Emch, the architect of Louis Erard's strategic revival and creative transformation. He found a kindred spirit in Patrik Sjögren, watchmaker and founder of the Swedish workshop GoS. Together, they envisioned a timepiece that would blend the essence of both Maisons: the technical precision and aesthetic refinement of the Swiss Jura married to the artistry of a Swedish forge, where masters of Damascus steel conjure mesmerizing patterns and contrasts in an almost alchemical process. After three years of dedication, the result is extraordinary – a series of 178 pieces of The Louis Erard Regulator X GoS, each one infused with the resolute spirit of the North.
While Swedish and Swiss craftsmanship evolved worlds apart, they are united by shared values: mastery of handcraft, a deep connection to nature, the power of materials, and a distinct, unmistakable aesthetic. A GoS timepiece is as instantly recognizable as a Louis Erard. Merging our two DNAs while honoring each brand’s identity was a meticulous process. We had to let the Damascus steel speak—its raw intensity and uniqueness commanding attention—while shaping it in a way that seamlessly integrates our signature design codes.” Manuel Emch.
Snow and Steel in Fusion
Linköping, 200 kilometers from Stockholm, is hardly the watchmaking capital of the world, yet it is here that master watchmaker Patrik Sjögren has chosen to establish his atelier. A craftsman who takes his time, he shapes and assembles each piece by hand, ensuring that every watch is truly unique. His creations center around the extraordinary use of Damascus steel, a material he entrusts exclusively to his friend and fellow Swede, blacksmith Conny Persson. Together, these two masters—watchmaker and blacksmith—are the very soul of GoS, founded in 2007.
It was only natural that the paths of Louis Erard and GoS would eventually meet, drawn together by a shared independent spirit, a deep reverence for nature, a commitment to local craftsmanship, and a passion for limited-edition creations, distinctive design, and uncompromising mechanical precision. The Régulateur Louis Erard X GoS is the result—a timepiece born from an artistic bridge between Switzerland and Sweden.
A Tribute to the Art of Damascus Steel
Each timepiece is housed in an elegantly proportioned 39mm steel case, framing a Damascus steel dial that makes every watch truly unique. Forged by Conny Persson and meticulously hand-finished by Patrik Sjögren, each dial undergoes a proprietary bath treatment that intensifies its contrasts—brightening the gray tones while deepening the blacks, creating a striking visual depth. While the overall geometry remains consistent, inspired by the intricate veins of trees found in both Swedish and Swiss forests, no two dials are ever alike, as each steel pattern is shaped by the unpredictable nature of the forging process.
Floating above this one-of-a-kind surface are three distinctive blue hands, arranged in the classic Régulateur configuration. The design embodies GoS’s signature aesthetic, from the triskelion-inspired small seconds counter at 6 o’clock to the sharply notched hour and minute tracks, also a hallmark of the brand’s design syntax.
The timepiece is presented on an equally nature-inspired strap crafted from salmon leather—a first for Louis Erard – paying homage to GoS’s Nordic origins, nestled between the Baltic and North Sea.
The Louis Erard Régulateur x GoS is limited to just 178 pieces, in keeping with all Louis Erard collaborations. A number rich in symbolism, its calligraphy conveys "stronger together"—a motto that has never been more fitting than for the union of Louis Erard and GoS.
