Ace Jewelers × Nivada Grenchen F77 Midnight Blue
Ace Jewelers and Nivada Grenchen present the F77 Midnight Blue, a limited edition of 50 pieces marking the close of the original F77 Mark 1 chapter. Following the sold-out F77 Amsterdam of 2024, this new edition serves as Ace Jewelers’ farewell to the first-generation F77, now that the Mark II has been introduced. It also forms part of Ace’s 50th-anniversary celebrations, honoring half a century of watchmaking passion and creativity.
Originally launched in the 1970s, the F77 was Nivada Grenchen’s answer to the growing category of integrated-bracelet sports watches. Rediscovered and revived in 2023, the F77 became a cornerstone of Nivada’s modern renaissance, celebrated for its compact proportions and crisp geometry. Ace Jewelers was proud to put its own spin on a beloved icon, offering thoughtful variations that highlight the enduring appeal of the F77’s design.
The F77 has been such a joy to see return and evolve,” says Guillaume Laidet, CEO of Nivada Grenchen. “The Mark 1 chapter will always hold a special place in our history, and closing it together with Ace Jewelers feels like the perfect way to thank the collectors who helped shape this revival.”
Alon Ben Joseph, CEO of Ace Jewelers, adds: “The Midnight Blue is a quiet tribute to a watch we’ve truly grown to love. It’s understated yet distinctive — a fitting farewell to the Mark 1 and a celebration of 50 years of Ace Jewelers.”
Design and Details
The F77 Midnight Blue retains the original 37 mm Mark 1 case with brushed and polished surfaces, framing a deep blue sunburst dial that darkens subtly toward black at the perimeter. By forgoing the basket-weave texture, the design takes on a sleeker, more contemporary appearance that accentuates the clean lines of the case and integrated bracelet.
The result is a watch that feels purposeful and balanced — modern in execution, yet unmistakably true to the F77’s 1970s origins. The minimalist design reflects Ace Jewelers’ preference for timeless detailing and ties neatly into Ace Jewelers’ 50th‑anniversary year, marking a fitting close to the F77’s first generation.
Ace & Nivada: A Continued Collaboration
Nivada Grenchen, revived under CEO Guillaume Laidet, has re‑established itself as a maker of robust, accessible tool watches with heritage‑driven design, bringing models like the Antarctic, Chronomaster, and F77 back to life.
Ace Jewelers, established in Amsterdam in 1975, has long championed both independent and heritage watchmaking. The F77 Midnight Blue is the fourth limited edition created together with Nivada Grenchen, continuing Ace’s legacy of meaningful collaborations that honor craftsmanship, horological heritage, and purposeful design.
