Opening Press Conference of the Geneva Watch Days 2025
On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the Palais Eynard—home of the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva—hosted the opening press conference of Geneva Watch Days 2025. Nearly one hundred guests from public authorities, watchmaking houses, and the media gathered to celebrate the launch of this sixth edition, which already promises to be exceptional.
On stage were Ms. Christina Kitsos, Vice President of the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva, Ms. Delphine Bachmann, State Councilor in charge of the Department of Economy and Employment of the Republic and Canton of Geneva, and Mr. Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari and President of Geneva Watch Days. They were joined by Georges Kern (Breitling) and Patrick Pruniaux (Ulysse Nardin), representing the participating brands and underscoring the importance of this unique event on the international watchmaking calendar.
A record-breaking edition organized as a vibrant festival
Since their creation in 2020, Geneva Watch Days have established themselves as an essential gathering for watch enthusiasts, collectors, and industry professionals. The 2025 edition marks a new milestone, with a record 66 brands brought together in Geneva for four days to celebrate creativity, innovation, and the diversity of horological savoir-faire. From historic Maisons to bold independents and rising contemporary voices, all are contributing to an event conceived as a vibrant, open, and inclusive festival.
The 2025 program has been completely reimagined, with a structure inspired by TV and radio schedules. Each day unfolds around regular features, immersive formats, and targeted talks. This approach strengthens the connection between brands, their clients, professionals, and the public at large, while providing accessible content and activities open to everyone.
A spotlight on Geneva and its watchmaking excellence
Christina Kitsos, Vice President of the Administrative Council of the City of Geneva, emphasized: “Watchmaking plays an essential role in the City of Geneva — from the manufactures and brand headquarters to the many boutiques, the ties with the local community, and the tourism it inspires.”
According to State Councilor Delphine Bachmann, Geneva Watch Days plays a key role in enhancing Geneva’s international profile: “Geneva Watch Days provides a unique and exceptional showcase for our canton and its watchmaking ecosystem. This event reflects the innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship that underpin Geneva’s international reputation, while reinforcing its economic and cultural appeal.”
For his part, Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari and President of Geneva Watch Days, underlined the importance of an open and dynamic event: “To engage in dialogue, to spark discovery, to share knowledge and passion — that is the very essence of our program. More than ever, it is vital for watchmaking to remain strongly present in the public imagination. Through events rich in content, education, and emotion, we strengthen this unique bond between brands, their clients, and enthusiasts worldwide.”
An independent and unifying event
Created in 2020 by eight pioneering brands — Breitling, Bulgari, De Bethune, Girard-Perregaux, H. Moser & Cie., MB&F, Ulysse Nardin, and Urwerk — Geneva Watch Days has since become an independent event, supported by the State and City of Geneva, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH), Geneva Tourism, the CCIG, the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), as well as long-standing media partner GMT.
With the active participation of GMT, WorldTempus, Revolution, Europa Star, JSH, WatchPro, Le Temps, Hantang Culture, The Real Time Show, Frank Sans C, Radio Lac, and Carac TV, the event will this year benefit from multichannel, international media coverage worthy of its ambition.
The sixth edition of Geneva Watch Days once again promises to bring people together, to surprise, and to celebrate the art of watchmaking in all its diversity and excellence.
